Designed by award-winning design firm AB Concept, luxurious restaurant, lounge and club Ce La Vi was one of the most anticipated openings of the year. Located on the 25th floor of California Tower in Lan Kwai Fong, the space’s sleek interiors, featuring plenty of warm reds and dark wood, are sure to turn plenty of heads. But the club’s true highlight is found on the terrace – a Jacuzzi that sits in the centre of the modern yet comfortable seating. The view, the ever-present DJs spinning house music and decadent bites such as foie gras French toast and short ribs make for a perfect night out.

This Mediterranean restaurant and bar was the result of a true meeting of the minds. Chef Philippe Orrico of Michelin-starred Upper Modern Bistro teamed up with Jeremy Evrard, formerly of fine-dine Caprice at the Four Seasons Hong Kong; Nicolas Deneux, former sommelier at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong; and international mixologist Giancarlo Mancino to create the space, which span the 28th and 29th floors of 18 On Lan Street in Lan Kwai Fong. Enjoy the flavours of southern Europe while a gin cocktail is mixed for you table-side on the establishment’s gin trolley, and don’t forget to explore the cheese bar together with a glass of boutique wine from the extensive wine list.

Ozone Sky Bar at the Ritz Carlton

At the dizzying 118th floor of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), Ozone is one of the highest bars in the world. That’s hardly its only claim to fame, though – the lounge and dining area’s décor is features a razor-sharp, futuristic edge, with plenty of marble, deep blue tones and an edgy 3D honeycomb ceiling, all designed by Tokyo-based interior design firm Wonderwall. While the drinks may be on the pricey side, a bird’s-eye view of the city is more than worth shelling out a little extra.

Shelter Italian Bar and Restaurant

Located on the seventh floor of Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, Shelter is a 5,000 square foot casual Italian dining and drinking spot that boasts a terrace and even a garden where organic ingredients for its dishes are grown. The terrace is filled with numerous cocoon-like loungers – Dedon’s Nestrest designed by Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety. The comfortable seating and verdant greenery make the space a perfect oasis where you can unwind after a stressful day.

Sugar Bar, Deck and Lounge

Everyone knows that Lan Kwai Fong and Soho are always a party, but – little known fact – the eastern side of the island is just as hot. Perched on the top floor of East Hotel in Taikoo Place, Sugar is a perfect watering hole for after work drinks, offering both an indoor seating area with comfortable ottomans and couches and a spacious outdoor deck with a stunning harbour view. Cigars are available to smoke on the patio – just make sure to book in advance so you don’t end up stuck with an indoor standing table.
