In the bustling urban landscape of Punggol, Singapore, this design approach for a 775 square feet condominium in the East of Singapore provides a unique opportunity to breathe new life into existing spaces with modern organic elements.  

The design skillfully reimagines existing spaces through a modern organic lens, merging clean lines, open layouts, and natural materials to create an atmosphere of tranquility and comfort. With biophilic elements and earthy colour palettes, the home becomes an inviting retreat that balances form and function.  

Upon entering, we are greeted by rich wood tones prominently showcased in the cabinets and ceiling paneling. An open-concept kitchen runs along the left side of the hallway, demonstrating a thoughtful interplay of light and dark elements that add depth and dimension. A standout feature of the kitchen is an arched backsplash adorned with vertical green tiles, which introduces a distinct character while breaking the monotony of the wood finishes.  

This delineation optimises organisation, and the secondary area is enhanced by terrazzo flooring, creating a striking contrast with the neutral tiles of the main kitchen. The result is a dynamic yet harmonious space that blends visual interest with practicality.  

Seamlessly transitioning from the kitchen, the living area fosters a natural connection between the spaces, enhancing the sense of openness and creating a cohesive visual narrative.  

Custom shelving and storage cabinets, complemented by brass handles, elevate the entryway, offering both practicality and elegance. The wood tones that extend through the ceiling effectively maximise vertical space and reduce visual clutter. By integrating functional design with stylistic elements, the space achieves a refined balance, creating an intimate yet open enclave.  

The master bedroom continues this sense of design continuity, leading into a master bathroom that exemplifies openness through the use of glass to define the wet and dry zones. Sleek stone tiles in the wet area provide a bold contrast to the neutral finishes, while elevated steps introduce subtle architectural interest and enhance the dimensionality of the room.  

The use of green tiles reflects nature-inspired elements, evoking a sense of calm while anchoring the room’s design. Their vertical arrangement draws the eye upward, subtly accentuating the ceiling height and adding a tactile layer that juxtaposes the smooth finishes of glass and stone.  

Brass accents are woven throughout the space, offering a warm, golden undertone that complements the earthy palette and organic textures. These elements create a striking contrast against the cooler tones of the green tiles and muted neutral finishes.  

As light interacts with these brass fixtures, their subtle sheen enhances key functional zones without overwhelming the design, aligning with the theme of understated luxury. Over time, the brass develops a natural patina, adding character and depth to the design.
