This Camellia Avenue residence by Hei Design Interiors showcases a sophisticated soft luxury aesthetic.
Client Brief
The homeowners, a large family, needed extensive storage solutions without compromising on style. They wanted a design that would provide ample storage functionality while maintaining visual appeal and design consistency throughout the home.

Concept & Style
Led by Hei Design Interiors’ senior designer Connie Cham, the project, spanning 2,670 sq.ft, embraces a refined soft luxury approach. The colour palette thoughtfully complements existing architectural materials, creating a cohesive and layered spatial experience that feels both elegant and welcoming.

Challenges
The primary challenge involved balancing external and internal design elements. Cham explains: “The clients wanted increased storage capacity, but didn’t want to rely heavily on conventional storage cabinets. This pushed us to develop more creative storage solutions that would preserve the space’s design integrity and visual depth.”

Solutions
The design team cleverly transformed traditional storage units into decorative display shelving that serves the dual purposes of storage and exhibition, enhancing both the visual appeal and practical functionality.

Cham notes: “We focused extensively on creating layered relationships between the furniture and decorative elements. For instance, we used leather-textured cabinet doors and deep navy velvet backing in the display cases. This interplay of velvet, faux leather, and other contrasting materials, enriches the cabinet and wall designs while dramatically elevating the overall spatial aesthetic, bringing greater texture and sophistication to the interior.”
