The new House of Great Treasure showroom invites you to imagine what your future kitchen will look like.
If the idea of a showroom conjures up images of cluttered, overwhelming displays, that leave you feeling lost, then it’s time you visited the House of Great Treasure, a design-forward destination for premium kitchen appliances in Causeway Bay.
Newly opened at 54 Leighton Road, the House of Great Treasure, conceived by Hero Design, offers a curated viewing experience that showcases over 250 pieces of refined kitchen appliances in realistic home settings. “It is a place where people are welcome to visit and to dream and imagine what their kitchen can be like,” said Benjamin Liang, Managing Director of Great Treasure Group.
Spanning 5,000 square feet, the two-storey space is curated in different kitchen styles that unfold as you explore – from Scandinavian minimalist and contemporary Haussmann, to modern industrial – showcasing the diverse range the group has to offer. Think soft pink marble with cream appliance finishes for a more feminine touch; black brushed steel cabinets, stainless steel counters and appliances, finished with a black marble bar-top for an industrial look; or white and fluted oak panels for minimalist appeal with subtle texture.
All the kitchen islands here have different shapes, with selected Artemest Italian artisan furniture integrated throughout. The showroom is envisioned as a place for “food lovers, culinary enthusiasts, aspiring homeowners and creatives to come and draw inspiration”, Liang added.
One focal point is the marble staircase connecting the two floors. A show-stopping colour swatch wall graces the staircase, featuring some 216 RAL Classic shades that the Ascot and Genesi line by STEEL CUCINE can be customised in. As you examine them up close while ascending, it doubles as striking feature wall, a form-meets-function approach reflected in many brands the Great Treasure Group represents.
Since 1992, the group has been a leading provider of premium kitchen appliances. With roots in both Hong Kong and Macau, the company offers the finest kitchen appliances from around the world, predominantly from Italy and Germany, with eight premium brands now beautifully showcased under one roof.
Taking pride of place on the ground floor is FULGOR MILANO’s Urbantech oven and stove range. This Italian label is synonymous with sleek designs and solid Italian craftsmanship, with products spanning indoor appliances and outdoor grills.
The Urbantech portfolio features a special matte black enamel finish with clean, straight detailing lines that invite you to touch and feel. This finish pairs exceptionally well with two-tone cabinetry and metallic accents for a cooking space with real character. Opt for stainless steel or black mirror finishes for a more timeless appeal.
Also on display are over 80 products from BLANCO, which bring a century of German engineering expertise to kitchen solutions. This specialist offers integrated water solutions ranging from sinks, taps and waste systems to complete water places that stand out for their innovative materials and colours. The company has achieved several industry firsts, including introducing two bowls from a single piece; and bringing the first coloured sinks made of Silacron to market in 1981.
Another patented innovation is Silgranit, a granite composite sink material that comes in eight different colours. Composed primarily of natural quartz, this material is designed to last and easy to maintain, resistant to staining, heat, and scratches.
The METRA sink, made in Silgranit, boasts a straight-lined design with large, deep bowls that suit styles of all kinds. Meanwhile, the VINTERA XL 9 sink, a Red Dot Design Award winner, brings an elegant farmhouse style to modern kitchens. The sink, also made with a Silgranit surface, features a 90cm wide sink capacity with either flush-mount or undermount installation options for maximal flexibility. Both series can be found in the new showroom alongside over a dozen faucet models, including CATRIS, BLANCOCULINA-S II, and AVONA-S, to name a few.
For more professional applications, STEEL CUCINE combines high function with aesthetic appeal. This Italian powerhouse has championed steel since it became available for kitchen design in 1992, making it central to appliances that bring a restaurant performance to home kitchens.
Take the Genesi series. This comprehensive portfolio of range cookers, hoods, built-in ovens, and fridges are made of durable stainless steel with an ergonomic design front and centre. Think metal knobs, a 10° angle control panel and cook-top on the same level as the kitchen counter. The Ascot range, meanwhile, features retro-classic styling with sinuous shapes that work beautifully in country-style kitchens. Both ranges appear on the upper floor and offer extensive customisation in the vibrant colours featured on the staircase gallery wall.
Then there’s CRISTAL, the go-to choice for built-in kitchen solutions perfect for Hong Kong’s compact homes. With 30 years of experience, the brand has already found its way into numerous residential developments over the years.
In 1992, the brand took the market by storm with the first dual fuel ceramic hob offering different colour finishes. This innovative approach continued in 2016 with the launch of the versatile Italian-made ESSENCE series, also displayed in the showroom, developed to meet the growing demand for contemporary kitchen designs. Featuring quality finishes and built-in styling, the collection includes combination steam ovens, multifunction microwave-oven combos, and electric ovens, among others.
Other household names featured in the showroom include DRYMASTER dehumidifier, TEXER outdoor sink cabinet, Urban Cultivator indoor farming solution from Canada, and Yalos Murano Italian handmade artistic basin from Italy.
The upper floor also houses a commercial kitchen and private dinning area showcasing Polytek Engineering, the group’s commercial kitchen arm’s capabilities. Jointly conceived by Hero Design Group and Brazilian designer Juliana Vasconcellos, this space takes cues from Brazil and Hong Kong’s natural beauty, featuring Vasconcellos’ signature pieces, including her Cloud Table and Giraffe Chair.
In a lovely nod to local talent and the creative community, the team held a design competition inviting local students to design a mural inspired by Brazilian and Hong Kong cultural elements as a backdrop for the commercial kitchen. The winning design by student Henry Ho Fung beautifully melds landmarks from both places, with Lion Rock and Christ the Redeemer sharing the same wall in perfect harmony.
“Anyone that gets to design and put together their own kitchen is very fortunate and blessed and these opportunities often come once or twice a lifetime,” Liang concludes.
“Until that happens, people are more than welcome to come and imagine what their future kitchen could look like, to touch and feel the appliances and even opportunities to see them in action.”
From cutting-edge kitchen technology and refined décor to emerging local art, this space brings together treasures of every kind. House of Great Treasure certainly lives up to its name. Come see for yourself.
