From vintage flight boards to runway lights, collective memories from the old Kai Tak airport have been brought back to life at the new F&B spaces at Kai Tak Sports Park, reimagined by SLD Group’s hospitality arm SLH.
The 33 venues draw on gold, silver, and bronze medal tones with clever design nods to the legacy of the old Kai Tak airport.
Located on the second floor, The Champion Bar channels the glamour of Kai Tak’s terminal with gold tones, striped glass, and retro flight boards. A standout feature is the airport’s coordinates (22°19’43.80″N, 114°11’39.56″E), encoded in Morse code and transformed into two 45-meter-long pendant lights.

On the fifth floor, the Muse Bar and Sports Bar showcase a silver theme with ceilings inspired by baggage carousels. The 5.5-meter-high space opens to views of Victoria Harbour, connecting the venue to its surroundings.
On the third floor, Loong and White Tiger Bars celebrate bronze with lighting inspired by runway systems. Translucent resin panels with embedded LEDs light the ceiling, symbolizing Hong Kong’s evolution from an aviation hub to a global event destination.
"To us, the name 'Kai Tak' represents more than just an airport – it embodies the collective memory of this city," said Heidi Chan, Design Director of Steve Leung Design Group. "We hope these aviation-inspired motifs will evoke visitors’ precious memories, allowing them to embrace the new chapter of the Kai Tak Sports Park with emotional connections and continue the legacy of Hong Kong together.”
