This 48-year-old flat is located in the lively Tai Hang area of Hong Kong Island.

Over time, its original renovation has fallen out of style, and the current layout no longer meets the homeowner's needs. As a result, an essential redesign and renovation were in order to transform it into a haven that truly reflects the homeowner's vision and lifestyle.

The littleMORE Interior Design team pointed out, "Although time has left its mark on this space, the residential unit still has many advantages, such as gentle sunlight pouring into the interior and a wide and peaceful view outside the window, making people feel like they are away from the hustle and bustle of the city."

The homeowner is a retired couple, and their daughter and son-in-law contacted the littleMORE Interior Design team, hoping to design a brand new home for their parents. The design team said, "We took modern Bauhaus style as inspiration and created an art-themed interior design project for it."

Here is an open kitchen. The design team said, "We like to design spaces that promote communication between people, so we have planned an open kitchen for them. On weekends and holidays, the daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren come to visit the homeowners. The open kitchen allows the homeowners to chat with their family members and enjoy quality time while preparing meals or cooking."

The cabinets in the kitchen are paired with cherry wood and deep emerald green veneers. The bar counter facing the dining area is decorated with wavy wooden strips, and the floor is laid with a composite wood floor in a herringbone pattern, creating a rich and diverse texture.

The TV wall in the living room combines storage and display functions, creating a large cabinet unit. It is adorned with brass and rattan elements, effectively separating the living area from the sleeping area with a clean and sleek design. The display cabinet now holds books, family photos, and decorations, creating a colorful and pleasant atmosphere that showcases the unique personality of the homeowners and creates a sense of leisurely living.

Due to the homeowners' need for two separate rooms and the possibility of hiring a domestic helper in the future, the space planning needs to be flexible. Therefore, a set of movable screens is installed between the two bedrooms. When the screens are open, the two rooms are connected, making it convenient for the elderly homeowners to take care of each other. When the screens are closed, one of the rooms becomes a separate corner that can be used as a maid's room or a guest room in the future.

To make the most of every inch of space, traditional solid walls are abandoned, and instead, a set of full-height bookshelves is used to divide the two rooms.

The LittleMore Interior Design team pays meticulous attention to color and material application. The walls of the bedroom are divided into two parts, with the upper and lower portions in dark gray and light gray respectively, adding visual depth. The interior is furnished with deep wooden wardrobes, with doors incorporating elements of light-colored rattan, creating a contrast between light and dark tones that exudes a sense of simplicity and elegance, while radiating a harmonious beauty.
