Table Monta

The Table Monta coffee table showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of Cassina, evident in its unique structure of two elliptical legs and an oval-shaped top. The luxurious marble slab is framed by a precisely assembled outer ring, accentuating the fluid lines of the table tops. Originally designed and used by Charlotte Perriand in her home, Table Monta is now available in a single size and two different versions.

The first version is a limited edition of 30 pieces. It features a natural walnut base like the original, combined with an Azul Bahia granite top (a precious material that appears like a watercolour for its intense blue nuances) and a new interpretation in black-stained ash. The second version of the table features a black Marquinia, Alpi green, Sahara Noir or Calacatta gold marble matte or polished top. Each piece bears the Cassina logo, the signature of Charlotte Perriand and a unique model number to maintain authenticity.

In 1966, the renowned Japanese architect Junzo Sakakura was selected to create a magnificent residence for the Japanese ambassador in Faubourg Saint-Honoré, France. Aware of his friend Charlotte Perriand's remarkable interior and furniture design talents, Sakakura called upon her to collaborate on this prestigious project. The furniture, designed by Perriand, was partly integrated into the architecture while allowing for mobility when desired.

Paravent Ambassade

Charlotte Perriand came up with the idea for the Paravent Ambassade screen to hide the door that connects the office to the salon de réception. Due to budget constraints, Perriand repurposed leftover solid rosewood from her Tabouret production to create the screen. She cut the wood into rectangular blocks and connected them with threaded rods. She created an attractive design by alternating solid and empty wooden elements, reminiscent of a sinuous wave, which brought the space to life with the screen's flexibility for customising and the beauty of the wood grain.

Paravent Ambassade

Through a collaboration with Pernette Perriand Barsac, Cassina successfully brought the Paravent Ambassade screen into production for the first time. Cassina expertly assembled and connected 313 hand-finished solid wood blocks using metal tie rods. The blocks are strategically interrupted by self-lubricating black plastic spacers, allowing the screen shapes to be customised. This elaborate wood weave transforms the screen into a stunning work of art, simultaneously revealing transparency while providing privacy.

The Paravent Ambassade comes in natural Canaletto walnut or natural oak. And just like Table Monta, each piece has the logo, the author’s signature, and a unique progressive number for its identity card to ensure its authenticity.
