Modern and minimalist by design, this 3,229-sq.ft. home at the heart of Jerusalem combines serenity, harmony and simplicity with a touch of finesse.

Done by Ollech + Tol, the apartment was tailored for a large family. The home owners, who champion modesty and minimalism, craved a house that’s equal parts spacious and welcoming, as well as a clear boundary between public and private spaces.

All the areas are decked out in a restrained composition of white and wood materials. The public spaces of the house, the kitchen, the dining room and living room are enclosed with white walls and paved with light tiles – the sense of space and openness is apparent.

The transition to the private, family wing is realised through wooden surface corridors, making it an out-of-bounds area for guests. In a departure from the radiant public space, the wooden hallways are dark, the ceiling low, the width narrow with concealed doors – like a maze inviting you to explore the rooms at the rear end of the house.
