This residence at Bel-Air with a variety of material and colour palette offers its residents a simple and cosy lifestyle.
Designed by OK Decoration Design, this 1,080-square-foot flat at Bel-Air applies wooden tones as its main aesthetic. To ensure the owners’ child daughter’s safety at home, the team carefully curate the shape of the furniture from a practical place and adopt arc-shaped designs for the majority of the items.
This not only minimises the risk of household accidents caused by square or rectangular with sharp edges, but also maintains a consistent outlook throughout the dwelling. Arc-shaped lamp troughs, for instance, work to brighten up those awkward corners and balance the overall visual.
In the living room, the design team opts for furniture made with wood elements. Matching them with white and rose gold stainless steel is a contemporary nods to the minimalistic ethos. In the corridor leading to the room, stainless steel is used to segment different areas.
To create a minimalistic Scandinavian-style kitchen, the space is painted in a fresh lick of olive green, coupling with the white and marble to inject cosy accents into the space.
Out of the living room, different colour and tone lend the bedrooms with personalities that mirror those of its users. In the master bedroom, the wall atop the bed is decked in light blue wallpaper to emanate cosiness and simplicity. Its bathroom is made of pink straight wall bricks and furnished by rose gold stainless steel; the glass doors introduce natural light in to illuminate the space.
In the daughter’s bedroom, the design team turns to wooden texture and white hue. In particular, different door panels match the varying styles of the wallpaper. In addition, a floor cupboard and cabinet are added to maximise storage.
