The branch, Japan's first, makes its debut in the upscale neighbourhood along with the flagship store MUJI Ginza, and follows the first two MUJI Hotels in China, located in Shenzhen and Beijing.

Occupying floors seven to 10, 79 guest rooms with various configurations are available for booking exclusively on the MUJI Hotel website.

Travellers can go for standard single or double bed-rooms, or instead opt for a truly Japanese experience with tatami mats. For those travelling in groups, bunk bed options are available as well.

Similarly to MUJI Hotel Beijing, which opened last year, the Ginza location is designed and operated by UDS Ltd. Interiors feature the MUJI brand’s signature minimalist aesthetic, with palettes in neutral and the use of natural materials, such as wood and stone.

On top of Marie Kondo-pristine, Instagram-approved interiors, guests are also offered tours of the city, as well as running-appropriate workout gear for rental. Rates throughout the year stay the same regardless of season, determined by room size.

Of course, for those who want to bring home a bit of the MUJI Hotel Ginza experience, the furniture and accessories are shoppable at levels one to six of the MUJI store below.

The hotel and store also launches with a multi-purpose facility called Atelier MUJI Ginza, which features five unique spaces: two galleries for exhibitions, a ‘salon’ serving coffee and other beverages, that pretty much doubles as a cafe; a library showcasing books on design and art; and a dedicated lounge for events and workshops.
