Pal Pang, the founder of Another Design International, has created a serene oasis for a family of four in Kowloon Tong. Using natural materials like sandstone and American walnut, Pal has crafted a space that exudes rustic charm and tranquility. The 1,700-square-foot residence is a perfect blend of simplicity and richness, with clear textures and warm tones that create a calming aesthetic.

"This house is characterized by calm," says Pal. "The materials used here are mainly natural, such as sandstone and American walnut. The use of space, lighting arrangements, material selections, and furniture styles are just a few of the things I focused on, but also creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere was also important to me."

From the moment you enter the gate, you feel far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. Printed on aluminum sheets, the walnut wood foyer walls display photos of the homeowners' travels in Africa.

The living and dining rooms are the heart of the home, and Pal uses limestone stone and American walnut to pave the walls. The furniture in both rooms is of the highest quality, with brands like Minotti and Albaplus from Italy. The lamps are also from the Italian brand Flos, adding sophistication to the space.

To echo the real stone used throughout the house, the living room features a coffee table with a marble countertop. The natural texture and color of the marble create a beautiful contrast with the gray sandstone wall, adding depth and character to the space.

The master bedroom serves as a bedroom, study, cloakroom, and bathroom. Near the end of the bed, mulitple wardrobes are built into the wooden wall behind the bed's headboard.

The study room is located in the master room, with an L-shaped worktop and stylish wall hangings. The furnishings are simple yet elegant, creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing space.

Two rooms were connected to form one large room for the two daughters, with light slots in the ceiling that allow natural light to fill the space. The soft atmosphere is suitable for relaxing and unwinding, but there is still plenty of light for reading before bed.
