Fancy a taste of Milan? From now until January 7, 2024, the inimitable fashion house serves a modern take on Italian cuisine alongside indulgent pastries and logo-emblazoned refreshments, all in quintessentially Prada interiors.
The Italian fashion house just opened a chic new pop-up cafe in Harrods department store. Prada Caffé takes design cues from Prada's first boutique in Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II arcade as well as its international flagship stores. The brand's mint-green hue dominates the cafe's interiors, with velvet sofas and armchairs placed on black and white tiles, while floral bas-reliefs adorn the walls, taking visitors back to the 1950s.
A huge display of goodies like chocolate, candies, hazelnut cake, tiramisu and sponges awaits you as you walk in. The counter's aesthetic is inspired by Prada’s own Bar Luce in Milan, designed by cult-favourite filmmaker Wes Anderson. The cafe will also offer classic negroni-based aperitifs, cocktails and wines from across Italy.
The sophisticated environment extends to the tableware, each piece hand-picked by Prada's design team. Harrods says, "Each piece compliments the cafe’s serene environment." Check out the pale-blue Japanese porcelain dishes with black detailing that are inspired by ancient Celadon pottery, and the blown-crystal glasses with Prada's classic triangle motifs.
