Sports cars are designed to be driven, seen, and luxuriated in, before being tucked precious and securely afterwards in their owner's home or garage.

Now, those homes are in for a massive upgrade, as British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin ventures into architecture and interiors with Aston Martin Automotive Galleries & Lairs.

Revealed at Pebble Beach in Monterey, California, the service involves creating bespoke garages, entire homes, even luxury retreats centered around displaying one's car or car collection.

“For the car enthusiast, the garage is as important as the rest of the house,” says Marek Reichman, chief creative officer at Aston Martin.

“Picture creating the ultimate space to showcase your own automotive works of art. This is now achievable with this new offering.”

Collectors and owners will work with both the Aston Martin Design Team as well as renowned architects on their dream automotive pad, whether a unique, custom-tailored garage or ‘Automotive Gallery’, or an altogether dedicated home for the car, called an ‘Automotive Lair’.

Obermoser arch-omo architecture, for example, has created an automotive lair for the Aston Martin Valhalla and Aston Martin DB5. The circular, subterranean space features the car in the centre of the space, alongside artworks. The lair also features entertainment and leisure areas, as well as living spaces for guests.

This isn’t the company’s first venture into the field of architecture and design. Reichman’s team has previously worked on the interiors for the 66-storey Aston Martin Residences in Miami, Florida; in Tokyo, the same team collaborated on the House of Aston Martin Aoyama, the company’s first global brand centre. They've also worked on interiors for numerous Aston Martin dealerships.

“Aston Martin has decades of expertise in staging cars in order to present them at their absolute best, but also understands the importance of storage and maintenance of these living, breathing machines,” says Aston Martin Partnerships Director, Sebastien Delmaire.

“Automotive Galleries can even be designed to fit the era if the customer has a heritage car. We are able to cover every requirement, whether it is to display single cars as pieces of automotive art, or a full collection of cars in a private museum.”
