My children have been witnessing their presents piling up under our tree, and asking me what mommy wants for Christmas. My honest desire, like every parent, is that they grow healthy, happy and thriving – especially during this thankful time. But to make the Lord’s season bright, here’s a list of treasures I would also love to receive.

MBRACE by Dedon
I cherish my pockets of peace, and DEDON’s latest MBRACE collection designed by Sebastian Herkner promotes a sense of serene tranquility. Fusing together fibre seating and a solid teak base for the first time, the series of chairs include a wingback, lounger, rocker and footstool in three colours – all of which capture the spirit of barefoot luxury. I can imagine unwinding with a good book while feeling secure and cocooned in this beautiful chair.

Texturae’s Art Deco wallpapers
Sometimes, it’s all about creating the right atmosphere in your interiors to reinvigorate the senses, and Texturae’s sophisticated Art Deco designs do just that by combining timeless, classic style with contemporary elegance. Encompassing retro lines, ton sur ton colours, soft nuances in contrast, and nature influenced graphic drawings, this collection will bring your walls to life. It gives me instant motivation to create a feature wall or two at home.

Godiva Wrapped Chocolate Truffle Gift Box
Who doesn’t love a box of delicious chocolates? All the better when there’s fun for the kids included. Apart from five festively wrapped truffles in each box, the chocolatiers have included a cutout for parent and child to construct a zoo animal. With choices of a panda, bear, giraffe and tiger, I can imagine my boys having incredible fun building their zoo.

Tai Ping Edition Neon Carpet
This is underfoot luxury at its coolest. Tai Ping’s latest round of collaborations presents 3D puzzles, layered landscapes and minimalist compositions, taking rug design to creative new heights. For Edition Two by Tai Ping, the brand invited six international design talents to embrace the language of weaves and motifs, where each of their personalities are woven into the carpets. I have my eye on the Neon collection by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez, crafted from 100% hand tufted wool.

Hausschwein by CYBEX and Marcel Wanders
Awarded the 2016 Red Dot Design Concept Award, the Hausschwein was the highlight of the exclusive furniture collection created by CYBEX in collaboration with Marcel Wanders. It’s not hard to see why, as this quirky yet functional home accessory defies what one expects from a kid’s toy storage box, boasting an elegant rear Matelassé pattern and whimsical belt motif. When playtime is over, its nose detaches and its belly opens, offering storage space for toys until next time. Other suggestions include placing flowers, magazines or arts and crafts supplies inside it. It’s available in white and matt black. Simply chic!

Nihiwatu
A true hidden gem on the island of Sumba in Indonesia, Nihiwatu allows the discerning traveller to experience a new type of luxury. Experimental in scope, activity driven, cultural and philanthropic, it’s definitely a place I have my sights on in 2017. Experiences and indulgences include a day-long spa safari with endless treatments and healthy bush-cooked meals, island exploration that include hidden waterfalls, local villages and artisans, and a professional equestrian center for sunset beach rides and mountain excursions.
