Ross Urwin, Co-Founder & Creative Director of Infrastructure Ross suggests stopping by for a cuppa at Common Ground, which is the closest I could get to a proper cup like in Australia. For a stiffer drink and delicious seafood dishes, he suggests dropping by Ronin. In between all the drinking, Ross recommends some retail therapy at the well curated Del Store in Sau Wa Fong.

JJ Acuña, Designer and Founder of the Wanderlister Fashion and design are equal passions for JJ Acuña, evident in one of his picks – Architectz Factory in Sau Wa Fong, which is chock-full of cool knick knacks and vintage pieces. Drinking in stylish surrounds is something he enjoys as well (who doesn’t?). JJ likes people-watching while nursing a drink in Aberdeen Street Social or having a G&T at Ping Pong. It’s a gintoneria in Sai Ying Pun owned by one of my friends, he shares.

Tim Shepherd, Designer, Two Men in Hats Gastronomy is as much of an interest for Tim as design. He suggests Zai Fe for coffee – their branch on the second floor terrace of Boconcept, a favourite of the HJ team too – and any of Philippe Orrico’s venues such as the Michelin-starred Upper Modern Bistro in Sheung Wan. The chef recently opened ON Dining Kitchen and Lounge on On Lan street, just a stone’s throw away from the stylish J.Crew Men’s store.

Apart from these, I suggest a drink and bite at The Pawn, which offers a new menu by Tom Aikens to match its newly renovated interiors. For a celebrity chef, Tom puts in a lot of hours in this timeless heritage venue, which is definitely a good sign. If drinking at home is more your thing, a bottle of Balvenie is a great addition to your bar cart. The smooth whiskey tastes great neat, and comes in a stylish bottle as well.   You should also consider a staycation sometime soon, or at least before February. The Upper House, one of our favourite hotels in Hong Kong, has partnered with Mr Porter for a staycation meets shopping package. Details here.
