Earlier this month, Danish design studio SPACE Copenhagen had the privilege of earning three accolades from AHEAD, whose awards celebrate excellence in hospitality design across the globe. The firm was recognised for its work on boutique hotel 11 Howard in Soho, New York City, in the categories of hotel renovation and restoration, lobby and public spaces, and suites.

Venture into 11 Howard and you’ll find multiple design aesthetics co-existing in harmony, with one look flowing seamlessly into the next as you walk from space to space. The hotel’s 213 suites feature a light colour palette and modern forms, creating a more residential, casually chic feel. Hotel bar The Blond, however, is more luxe and romantic, with dark woods and gold accents. Meanwhile, common space The Library exemplifies Scandinavian style, filled with furnishings by brands such as &tradition, GUBI and Stellarworks.
