Atmosphere, hospitality, and sumptuous food make a great meal — but it's company that mothers desire the most, particularly on this one day every year.

With that in mind, we put together a selection of dining destinations in Hong Kong, all perfect for tables for two, three, or more.

Statement

Statement’s weekend Britannia Brunch begins with a glass of mimosa (or as many as your heart desires), followed by charcuterie with pickles and sourdough bread. A generous seafood platter of Irish oysters, Norwegian smoked salmon, Cornish prawns, and Cornish mussels whet the appetite for the main course. The signature, of course, is the roast British beef freshly sliced tableside and served with Yorkshire pudding and sides for the table.

And for Mother’s Day, Statement’s antique serving trolley will also be carving oak-smoked Adlington ham glazed with Welsh heather honey tableside as part of the Britannia Brunch. A choice between sticky toffee pudding, chocolate orange mousse, or sea salt butterscotch ice cream delivers a sweet finish to a hearty, luxurious meal.

Priced at HK$628 per person including free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne and classic British cocktails. Statement is at Tai Kwun, 10 Hollywood Rd, Central, Hong Kong. Make your reservation here

The Pansodan

For three months beginning April 27, The Pansodan, a Burmese brasserie from Yangon, pops up in Hong Kong’s Sai Ying Pun district.

“We’re excited to showcase an interesting a-la-carte menu and a tasting menu populated with pillars of traditional Burmese fare, but with a modern application through trusted recipes,” explains Ivan Pun, whose Pun + Projects has partnered with JIA Group for the pop-up. “Sharing border crossings with China, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand, the country has been at an Asian crossroads for centuries — the result making for a culinary discourse keenly influenced by the aforementioned nations, but distinctive enough to carve its own niche.”

The Pansodan, Hong Kong, is at 100 Third Street, Sai Ying Pun; T: 2361 2966; E: info@thepansodan.hk.
